S.F.'s MAYOR CLAIMS BUSH LED HIM TO BACK GAY MARRIAGE STUNT 

This Miami Herald article details how the mayor of San Francisco thought up the publicity stunt to sanction gay marriages in his city. Mayor Gavin Newsom claims he came up with the idea after hearing President Bush promising to support the institution of marriage in his State of the Union speech.

Does Mayor Newsom include John Kerry with Bush, as motivation for this ploy, since the Democratic Senator said in Sunday's Wisconsin debate that he would not rule out endorsing a constitutional amendment barring gay marriage? (Check out the post on the Wisconsin debate, below)
