MAKING AN EFFORT: NY REPUBLICANS SET UP SHOP IN HISPANIC NEIGHBORHOODS
New York State Republicans are reaching out to Hispanics in Washington Heights
Ed Gillespie, chairman of the Republican National Committee, attended the opening of the Republican office on Dyckman Street, in Manhattan, in order to boost the Republican voter registration effort with Hispanic voters. Evidence indicates that Hispanic voters are open to both parties and are willing to listen to and check out the Republican message. The Washington Heights office is in the 72nd Assembly District where there are 3,261 registered Republicans to 38,660 Democrats. Manhattan alone has 568,447 registered Democrats to 96,292 registered Republicans.
The Republicans have to start somewhere and it's fantastic that they have set up shop in Washington Heights. Hopefully, many people will start to see in the next few years that they have 2 clear choices amongst the political parties.
