Thin-skinned Democrats horrified by Jenna's "wanton disrespect"

Democrats are not amused

Congressional and other prominent Democrats took a swipe at President Bush's daughter Jenna, today, in a press conference. Highlighting what they call "out of control Republicans," Democrats lashed out at what they perceive as the latest example of a political party that's not fit to govern.

Corinne Brown, Florida Congresswoman, blamed Jenna for rubbing the 2000 election victory in Democrats faces. She also attacked Republicans who told Brown to ignore Jenna's funny-face and to "get over it." Addressing her remarks to Jenna, Brown said,
I come from Florida, where you and others participated in what I call the 'United States coup d'etat.' We need to make sure it doesn't happen again. Over and over again after the election when you stole the election, you came back here and said, "Get over it." No, we're not going to get over it.

Tery McAuliffe, DNC Chairman, said that when Vice President Cheney hurled the "F-bomb" at Sen. Patrick Leahy, Gov. Schwarzenegger called California legislators "girlie-men", and Jenna stuck her tongue out at reporters, they proved that the Republicans are a "crass and classless bunch." McAuliffe pointed to celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg, John Leguizamo and Linda Ronstadt as Kerry supporters who represent "the heart and soul of America."

Tery McAuliffe demanded that Jenna apologize to the photographers and reporters who were "victimized" when she stuck out her tongue. However, when one AP reporter was contacted, he said no apology was needed. The photographer added, "We were laughing and waving at her. Some reporters even stuck out their tongue, back at her. The whole thing was really funny."
