A WEEKEND OF WISDOM FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES

Hip-Hop Review: Bling-Bling, Party Party: Some Rappers Just Want to Have Fun Saturday March 6, 2004 by Jon Pareles
"On Thursday night at the Hammerstein Ballroom, Ludacris headlined a concert full of good-time party chants and testosterone testimonials. Ludacris (Chris Bridges) has raised bad-boy boasting to the pinnacle of hip-hop technique. His rhymes make him a raunchy, rowdy, all-conquering hell-raiser, with a sense of humor as strong as his machismo. In his world the women are easy, the clubs are jumping, the cars guzzle gas and rivals had best steer clear."

Mel Gibson Forgives Us for His Sins Sunday March 7, 2004 by Frank Rich
"With its laborious build-up to its orgasmic spurtings of blood and other bodily fluids, Mr. Gibson's film is constructed like nothing so much as a porn movie, replete with slo-mo climaxes and pounding music for the money shots."

ARAFAT'S INSULT: MOURNS ABU ABBAS AS A "MARTYR"
John Kerry has called Arafat a "statesman" but Arafat mourned a terrorist on Wednesday

Yasser Arafat mourned Abu Abbas as a "martyr" despite the fact that Abbas was in American custody for hijacking a cruise ship and killing an American passenger because he had a "Jewish sounding name." Abbas masterminded the 1985 hijacking of the cruise ship, "Achille Lauro." Leon Klinghoffer, a wheelchair bound American, was thrown overboard by the terrorists who boarded the ship.

John Kerry hailed Yasser Arafat as a "statesman" in his 1997 book. Kerry has now flip-flopped and changed his position by now saying that Arafat is an "outlaw" but "he was a statesman in 1995."

MAKING AN EFFORT: NY REPUBLICANS SET UP SHOP IN HISPANIC NEIGHBORHOODS
New York State Republicans are reaching out to Hispanics in Washington Heights

Ed Gillespie, chairman of the Republican National Committee, attended the opening of the Republican office on Dyckman Street, in Manhattan, in order to boost the Republican voter registration effort with Hispanic voters. Evidence indicates that Hispanic voters are open to both parties and are willing to listen to and check out the Republican message. The Washington Heights office is in the 72nd Assembly District where there are 3,261 registered Republicans to 38,660 Democrats. Manhattan alone has 568,447 registered Democrats to 96,292 registered Republicans.

The Republicans have to start somewhere and it's fantastic that they have set up shop in Washington Heights. Hopefully, many people will start to see in the next few years that they have 2 clear choices amongst the political parties.

HARRY BLACKMUN: EVOLVING JUSTICE ACCORDING TO THE NEW YORK TIMES
In depth retrospective celebrates how one Justice and his liberal views help changed America

The New York Times makes the determination that Justice Blackmun "evolved" in his career on the Supreme Court bench because he became known to support liberal ideology that the New York Times champions in its pages. What is the evolutionary process anyway? It hints of arriving at one destination from an inferior, less attractive, and inauspicious beginning. Much as the human race evolved from a primitive existence, the New York Times decrees that Blackmun was able to "see the light" of Truth by the time his career ended. "Evolving" is a liberal code word that instantly calls to mind Senator Ted Kennedy's characterization of President Bush's judicial nominees as "Neanderthals." In the eyes of political liberals like Kennedy, evolving means that it is okay to advocate the killing of babies and allowing women to drown off Chappaquidick Island.

If disagreeing with the "evolved" liberal view makes me a Neanderthal, show me to my cave and let me make my fire in peace.

2 POLLS SAY MAJORITY OF AMERICANS FAVOR CIVIL UNIONS

Gay marriage, much less civil unions, were unthinkable just a few years ago

The way that American attitudes have changed dramatically reflects how liberal agenda pushers realize they can frame the terms of the debate concerning the Culture War by flooding the discourse with their cunning rhetoric.

Volunteer and/or donate to the Bush/Cheney 2004 campaign

WICTORY WEDNESDAY

As Polipundit said,
"If you have any doubt that the lying liberal media will do everything they can to defeat President Bush, you only have to look at their handling of the Democrats' vicious AWOL slander against the president. The lying liberal media dragged the story out for days and, even now, refuses to believe the president. That's just a preview of what will be the nastiest presidential campaign ever. And the elites will all be arrayed against the forces of conservatism.

But that doesn't mean we're going to lose. You have the power to affect how people vote. Every small contribution of time or money that you make can swing a few votes. Together, we can make the difference in states like Florida.

Today is Wictory Wednesday. Every Wednesday, dozens of bloggers ask their readers to volunteer and/or donate to the Bush 2004 campaign."

JOHN FLIP-FLOP KERRY CALLS FOR MONTHLY DEBATES UNTIL ELECTION

Kerry wants to debate President Bush, once a month, from now until the election.

Kerry probably believes that he won the Democratic nomination because of the seemingly endless number of debates between him and the 8 other Democratic candidates. The reason why he won the nomination overall is because he picked up more Iowa voters, than Edwards did, who were turned off by the nasty Dean v. Gephardt nasty battle. After that, it was easily sailing for the yachtsman.

John Kerry did not win the nomination by debating the likes of Al Sharpton, Dennis Kucinich and Carol Mosely Braun. President Bush should take Kerry up on his ridiculous offer before he flip-flops and says he opposes debating at all. George Bush is an able, strong and convincing debater because he says what he believes in (ask Al Gore and Ann Richards). The Democrat debates were boring affairs with not one memorable moment or winning point made. Bush is no patsy. Bring it on, John.
