Thank you, Senator McCain: The senator's convention speech surely played a part in Bush's bounce. Incredibly, 20% of Arizona Democrats are supporting President Bush.
The Arizona Republic has a new poll that shows President Bush has a huge 16 point lead in the state of Arizona.
When the Arizona Republic conducted a poll after the Democratic Convention it found that Senator John Kerry did not get the crucial bounce that is necessary to jump start a campaign.
Political pundits criticized Republicans for prominently featuring "moderate" Republicans during the Republican Convention in New York City. However, the great speeches by popular politicians like John McCain, Rudy Giuliani and Arnold Schwarzenegger were a boost for President Bush's campaign.
It is very likely that Bush's Arizona bounce is due to Sen. McCain's strong endorsement of the president at not only the convention but also at campaign events in Arizona. Recently, McCain and the president appeared before a huge crowd at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.
Many Republicans across the country are not the biggest McCain fans but everyone can admit that McCain has done a tremendous job of supporting and campaigning for President Bush. Those efforts might have paid off in this stunning Arizona poll.
